There are a number of reasons why someone would need to have a tooth extracted. The first, and most obvious, reason is that there just isn’t enough room in a person’s mouth for all of their teeth. This is often the case with wisdom teeth, which most people must have removed due to a lack of space in the mouth. A second reason is that a tooth may be dead or decaying, and a third reason to have a tooth extracted is if there is an infection that is destroying the surrounding tooth and bone structure.
Whatever the reason may be, it is better to extract the tooth than to let it fester in the mouth and cause more damage. Before extracting a tooth, our dentists will first thoroughly examine X-rays to determine how difficult the extraction will be. Next, they will administer a sedative to numb the area around the affected tooth. We offer nitrous oxide sedation as well as non-IV sedation. The tooth is then carefully loosened and removed using special tools. After removal, it is imperative that the area be kept clean to prevent an infection.
Our trusted and reliable dentists are able to seamlessly perform tooth extractions, as well as a number of other oral surgeries. We do tooth implants, gum graft surgery, porcelain veneers and much more.
